Week of Marriage Equality: Quincy Has Most Marriage License
Applications on South Shore
Here is the number of marriage license applications filed by same-sex couples in South-Shore communities in Massachusetts during the first week of legal marriage for gay couples, May 17-21, according to a Boston Globe survey of city and town clerks. Clerks in 265 communities reported at least one same-sex couple applying for a marriage license in that week, with a total of 2,468 same-sex couples. The Globe received replies from 347 of the state's 351 communities, accounting for 99.8 percent of the state's population. "N/A" on the chart indicates that a figure for that community was not received.
