QUINCY FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY SUPPORTS
PROTECTING ADAMS' CONSTITUTION
QUINCY - Quincy for Marriage Equality Co-Founder Jerry Ringuette issued the following statement today in recognition of the unveiling of the new "Adams Dollar":
Today, as we celebrate the legacy of Quincy's native son John Adams, Quincy for Marriage Equality calls upon our elected officials to honor and protect the State Constitution he authored.
Adams' Constitution was designed to protect the civil rights of everyone. At the upcoming Constitutional Convention, our elected officials have the special opportunity to protect the Constitution he wrote from a discriminatory amendment taking the right to marry away from same-sex couples.
We call upon Quincy's legislative delegation to vote against writing discrimination into Adams' Constitution.
Quincy for Marriage Equality is an association of people who live, work, volunteer and worship in the city of Quincy and are dedicated to protecting marriage equality for same-sex couples.
